SIXTH TECH
Finalizing project number 1:
Objectives:
- The student verifies that the circuit is in optimal conditions.
- The student performs functional tests using a battery or voltage source.
Study the following symbols:
Project's Circuit:
In this one, the different symbol is the engine.
In this one the switch is activated
- The student solves the test about the topics already studied in Technology.
- The student presents the circuit he/she has elaborated.
- The student draws the electronic diagram of the circuit and explains it to his classmates.
🌒ROVERS MARS MISSION🌖
Read the information related to the different rovers that have explored Mars and their characteristics.
Make a power point presentation solving each of the following questions:
What is the purpose/mission of each rover?
How is a rover different from other types of objects studying Mars?
How do rovers help scientists?
What type of terrain is expected on Mars?
What should the tires of a rover on Mars look like?
What is an actuator and what types of actuators do you think each rover was equipped with depending on its purpose?
What type of sensors do you think each rover was equipped with to fulfill its purpose?
- The student recognizes the actuators and sensors of an explorer robot - Rover.
- The student identifies the importance of each of these parts.
BUILDING A ROVER

Explore MARS - Rover
ACHIEVEMENTS:
- The student proposes design ideas for the external part of the rover.
- The student uses 3D modeling software to create rover solution ideas.
Use the tinkercad file given by the teacher to create a 3D design of your rover. Consider the following aspects:
- Decoration that will allow it to withstand the weather conditions on Mars (Circuit Protection).
- Decoration that does not interfere with the rover's movements.
- Materials you need to build the protective outer part and colors you will use. Look at the examples provided by the teacher.
- Parts that will allow the rover to collect and transfer samples of rocks, bacteria, and chemicals.
- Complete the 3D design in tinkercad.
WELDING MOTORS AND CONNECTIONS
ACHIEVEMENTS:
-The student connects each of the DC motors to the Arduino Motor Driver module.
STEPS
Use two Male-Male type jumper wires per motor. Then, with the teacher's help solder each of the wires to the 4 motors. After you have all the motors soldered with jumper, make the connection of the motors to the Arduino Motor DRIVER.
Don't forget to also connect the servo motor in the indicated place.
Finally, attach the arduino board to the Arduino Motor DRIVER.
In the end, your rover should look like this:
